We have created this procedure to guide our partners in launching their own brand. It shows how to produce the complete cat litter, from naming to final packaging.

1. Product Selection

The distributor brand line catalog includes:

• Multi-grain diatomite. Non-clumping.

• Small-grain diatomite. Non-clumping.

• Premium bentonite. Clumping.

• Super premium granules. Clumping.

• Biodegradable cereals. Clumping.

• Vegetable fibers. Clumping.

• Renewable pine. Non-clumping.

1.1 Customization on Request

Depending on demand, our R&D team can develop a customized cat litter for the distributor. Examples include changes in color, size of granules, and addition of fragrance.

These customizations will require development time and must be validated together with the client before proceeding to order/production.

1. Packaging

For the creation, acquisition, and supply of packaging, we provide various tips and full support for the client during development. Below are some important tips:

2.1 Technical Information

2.1.1 Volume of Packaging

We recommend the volumes from the Progato line:

• Non-clumping: Diatomite 1.8kg, 3.6kg, and 10.0kg.

• Clumping: Bentonite 4.0kg and 10.0kg.

• Clumping: Cereals and Vegetables 2.1kg and 3.0kg.

• Non-clumping: Pine 1.8kg, 5.0kg, and 10.0kg.

Other options are more expensive and have longer delivery times, which need to be negotiated.

2.1.2 Types of Packaging

We have three types of packaging: 4 seals, pillow, and gusseted. It can have a handle or not, as you prefer. For 10kg volumes, we recommend only pillow and gusseted packaging. For other packaging models, consult the technical department.

2.1.3 Packaging Material

We recommend low-density polyethylene (LDPE) for pillow and gusseted packaging and double laminated LDPE + PET (more durable) for 4 seal packaging.

2.1.4 Baling

Litter packages are baled in plastic. For 1.8kg packages, the bales contain 8 packages. For 3.0kg and 4.0kg packages, the bales contain 6 packages.

2.1.5 Palletization

The bales are packed on pallets of 1,200 kg each.

1. Creating the Artwork

If your company does not have its own designer, we can recommend a company to create the artwork for your packaging. These files should be made in Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator in technical drawing format with the packaging measurements, die line, and high print quality.

Creating the artwork involves including all created images (logos, illustrations, etc.) and text information that must appear on the packaging. These include:

3.1 Vectorized Logo of Your Company

The packaging of the cat litter is an excellent way to strengthen your company's logo and brand. Take advantage of this space!

3.2 Transparent Window (optional)

Having a transparent window on the packaging can be very interesting so that customers can see the quality of the product and its differentiators.

3.2.1 Labels Highlighting the Product or Company Differentiators

Example: Biodegradable Product or Environmentally Friendly Company.

3.2.2 Net Weight

It is necessary to include information regarding the net weight of the product on the packaging.

3.2.3 Composition

It is necessary to include information about the composition of the product on the packaging:

• Diatomite;

• Diatomite and natural fragrance;

• Imported bentonite;

• Mineral of sedimentary origin;

• Biodegradable cereals and natural binder;

• Biodegradable cereals, natural fragrance, and natural binder;

• Vegetable fibers and natural binder;

• Customized granules: evaluate capacity to meet.

3.2.4 Storage Instructions

It is advisable to inform on the packaging how the owner should store the product.

Example: Keep in a cool, ventilated, and dry place.

3.2.5 Registration with MAPA

According to decree no. 5,053, of April 22, 2004, there is no need to register these products with MAPA, nor to include information regarding this topic on the product packaging.

3.2.6 Barcode

It should be present on the packaging, as it facilitates the work of retailers. The purchase and delivery of barcodes is the customer's responsibility.

3.2.7 Brazilian Industry

It should be present on the packaging: "Indústria Brasileira" or "Manufactured in Brazil."

3.2.8 Recycling Symbol (optional)

The product is 100% natural and sustainable; therefore, adding the recycling symbol to the packaging reinforces the care for the environment.

3.2.9 Validity and Lot

Non-perishable product. The Lot and production date are printed in areas outside the seal of each package, in a field indicated by our team through the technical dies. The data to be stamped are:

3.2.11 Product Benefits

The technologies employed in our granules differ from product to product. Some are clumping, others inhibit odors better, while others primarily feature renewable raw materials.

Highlighting the benefits is a good way to differentiate.

Examples vary according to the type of product chosen:

• Inhibits odors;

• High yield;

• Product made from renewable raw materials;

• Biodegradable product;

• Does not produce dust;

• Pleasant to sensitive paws;

• Firm and dry clumps;

• Does not stick to paws / leaves no traces.

3.2.12 How to Use (text and/or illustration)

Instructing and, above all, educating the owners is essential to create closeness with your customers.

Preparing a list or illustration of how to use is a good strategy.

1. Place a 5 cm layer of SEUNOME litter in the box.

2. To clean, remove clumps and feces daily.

3. The clumps should be disposed of in non-recyclable waste.

4. Replenish the litter in the box until it reaches 5 cm in height again.

3.2.13 Care Instructions

The composition of SEUNOME litter is 100% natural and environmentally friendly.

3.2.14 Precautions

Most competitors provide information regarding potential contamination hazards when using cat litter. Here is an example:

Toxoplasmosis results from an infection caused by a protozoan found in the feces of sick cats and contaminated raw food, with the oral route being the main source of contamination. Therefore, wash your hands thoroughly after handling the litter. Place the box in a low-traffic area and away from food preparation.

1. Acquisition of Rolls and/or Bags

4.1 Creation of the Plate

A plate is a type of printing for plastic packaging, referring to a matrix engraved on a rubber plate and intended for printing the artwork for the production of packaging. Aliança Latina can recommend suppliers for creating the plate. Generally, those who prepare the plates also produce and sell the rolls or bags.

4.1.1 Purchase of Rolls

The purchase and supply of the packaging rolls are the client's responsibility. A roll is the plastic raw material, already printed with your artwork. We recommend using the same supplier that created the plates and produces the rolls.

4.1.2 Validation

An important part of this stage is validation. Ask your roll manufacturer to provide samples for pilot testing on the machine. This is how Aliança Latina validates packaging in collaboration with our clients. All results will be shared and validated together with your team, and once validated, we will approve the production of the roll with your supplier.

4.2 Tax Operations

Once the roll production is approved, we must comply with the current legislation regarding tax operations to receive the rolls and carry out the industrialization. The scheme below illustrates the process to be followed.

If the roll is shipped directly from the supplier to Aliança Latina, the procedure below must be followed:

4.3 Supplier Recommendations

The choice of the supplier for rolls and plates is free for the client, as long as the technical specifications of Aliança Latina's process are respected. Issues involving colors and quality of the artwork must be handled between the client and the supplier.

4.4 Manufacturing of Packaging

Generally, the supplier of the roll takes about 40 to 45 days to deliver it. This considers the time for creating the plate + printed roll for packaging. If the packaging is different from the standard, this deadline may extend.

4.4.1 Delivery to Aliança Latina

The start of production depends directly on the delivery of the roll. After receiving it, the order will be placed in the production program. Generally, the time between receiving the roll and manufacturing the granule is 7 days, which may vary according to the production schedule.

All the above information will be included in our draft contract, which we will send for your evaluation. If you believe any changes are necessary, please inform us via email, and our legal team will analyze the points raised. After approval by both parties and signing the contract, we will initiate our partnership, which will surely be successful.
